Helping Kids Find Their Voice

(Presentation from July 2024 for Rotary club of SiliconAndhra)

Trust, Listen, Change and Self-reflection as ways to help young adults find their voice.

*Trust :*

1. Trusting children with their decisions is essential from a young age

2. Let them make mistakes and learn from them. Guide them when needed

3. Trust that you are doing your best as a parent.

*Listen:*

1. Listen to kids without interrupting

2. Express your concerns as thought provoking questions

3. Ensure they feel heard in all kinds of conversations

*Change:*

1. Change represents growth

2. Their likes, dislikes, and opinions keep evolving.

3. Accept and respect the change

*Self-Reflection:*

1. Look back at mistakes without judgment and blame

2. When failure occurs, focus on identifying what went wrong and how it can be improved

3. When experiencing success, recognize the steps that worked for and apply them in future challenges.

Consistency is the key to make sure children are going through these learnings.

By feeling seen and heard, they develop the confidence to express themselves clearly.
